The function of this website is to explore css and html, so we are able to create our own websites. Ms. Bennet is making us make this site because as a teacher she wants us to be able to make websites and to succeed in her class. So in general this website is to show case my ability to make a website .

Unit 1

So far in our first unit I have learned about a lot of things. Some of the thing I have learned were how to evaluate a website, how colors in nature work together, how to make a website accessible and how to plan and organize a website. In this unit I first learned about how to evaluate a website where we also as a class made our own rubric. In this subtopic I learned that a webcite can not be too comple. The website needs to be organized in a neat usable fashion and the website needed to have font that is big enough to be read by people without blending into the background. In the second subtopic I learned about colors and how they have specific sequences that look good together. There were also a project where I learned that nature chooses colors that work together. This bring us to the third subtopic, where I learned about what is needed to make a website accessible and how these handicaps affects people. We as a class did this by using a disability simulator then we talked about in in class, for instance tunnel vision could only see through a small hole without seeing the whole page. In the same topic I also learned that there are set protocols we needed to follow when making a website, such as html, and css are some of these such protocols. Protocols are what defines how a website looks in works on the internet. After I learned about website accessibility I learned how to plan and organize a website. This was done by working with partners and planning out what would be a great way to organize it. The project was a simulation for what people have to do when making a website. They have to think about what they need in there website, then make a plan for where they need these pages at. So in the end, of this unit I have learned a lot of things in this first unit, Which has improved on what already knew about websites.

Unit 2

In this unit, I have learned various things. For example in our html files we went over how to create landing pages, navigation and paragraphs. We also learned how to make lists to organize our information, for instance we used the li opening and closing tags to make the lists. We also created links that we put into the lists and navigation, one specific instance of this that I found unique was that we used mailto: in a link to connect to our mail accounts. Although each of these basics are good to learn about I feel the most important ones to me were creating a Data table and HTML videos. In creating a data table I learned a lot of things like the use of several different tags and the use of scope. In html videos we all learned that they can be very difficult you have to download the files in a specific way or the video will not work.
